I am a new convert to Eastern Orthodoxy, I was baptized the Friday before Holy Week of this year.

I wanted to seek the advice of more mature and experienced Orthodox on something if I may.

Have any of you used Orthodox New Testament commentaries? Do you recommend any? Are there any that are generally accepted as de facto standards?

Christ is risen!

'The Explanation' (of the Holy Gospels and Epistles) by Blessed Theophylact.

Recommendation? - 900 years of use!

I found it very interesting to read both the commentaries by Blessed Theophylact and the Orthodox Study Bible. I found them to be quite complimentary.

And welcome to our forum, HikerJim.

Thank you, I saw this one the other day. I will bookmark it and get it the first chance I have.

I got a chuckle out of this. I think that's safe to say it's a good recommendation

I have the Orthodox Study Bible now and just reading the correct interpretation of the Bible by the Church Fathers has been very enlightening and I have been eager to learn more.

Thank you macacic for the welcome!

Thank you Aristokles for the help too!
