I'll make this as brief as possible. Basically, I was raised Southern Baptist and eventually became a minister in the Church of the Nazarene which is an 'off-shoot" of the Methodist Church. I was never satisfied with where I was in my walk with Christ. No matter how much I felt like He was moving in my life, I always felt like something was missing or like there was a higher level I needed to be at.
I decided to search, with an open mind, into Truth. I decided to throw everything out the window I had learned and search for true scriptural meaning. I began with the early church. Everywhere I turned, I kept coming up with the Orthodox Church. I never intended on looking for a new church when I began this search mind you. After reading som much on church history I began looking more deeply into the Orthodox doctrine.
Long story short, I visited an Orthodox church for the first time and new right then that, that was where I was supposed to be. So, I resigned my ministry and was baptized Orthodox this past November.
I've since been had a very hard time with family and friends but I wouldn't change my decision if my life depended on it. God be praised! |
